Spectral investigations of the chromospheric spicules

Description

A review of chromospheric fine structure (spicules) spectral and light filter observations made by different investigators is given. The general physical characteristics of these formations are described. The Doppler shift variaitons in time and depending on the height of the spicules are determined on the basis of spectral observations carried out by the author with the 53-cm coronagraph of Abastumani astrophysical observatory
