Protection in depth as the safety gauranty

Description
A notion of penetration in depth is discussed. The notion is used widely when analyzing the nuclear power engineering object safety. The object protection in depth must be based on the successively physical barriers, technical systems, protection means and organizational measures. Role of different barriers at NPPs is analyzed for possible ways of radioactive product spreading in the environment. The International scale of NPP accidents is presented
