Description
The design and characteristics of a low energy irradiation ion source are presented. Magnetic field is used to maintain discharge plasma confinement. A two-electrodes system of acceleration and deceleration with many small holes is used to extract the ion beams. The results show that the energy of ion beam is between 200-20000 eV, the maximum current of ion beams is 150 mA and the working time of filaments is about 160 h
