Effect of oxygen on the dissociation pressure of the hydride based on the intermetallide LaNi5

  • 1. M.V. Comonosov Moscow Institute of Fine Chemical Technology

Description

This paper analyzes the various mechanisms for the effect of oxygen on the thermodynamic properties of LaNi5H /SUB n/ . The increases in the dissociation pressure of hydrides based on the intermetallide LaNi5 with a variation in oxygen content have been estimated. The experimental data reflect the effect of oxygen on the dissociation pressure by two mechanisms; oxygen is partially dissolved in LaNi5 and, furthermore, forms oxide compounds with lanthanum, which is seen from the results of x-ray phase analysis
