Description

Fabrication technique for plastic scintillation counters, which are the elements of the cylindrical 673-mm diameter hodoscope, is described. The plastic scintillation counter consists of a scintillator, made on the polystyrene base and with 600x87x5 mm dimensions; transient and base lightdiodes, made from polymethylmethacrylate, and photomultiplier. The optical contact between the base lightdiode and photocathode is carried out by vaseline. The investigation results of counter amplitude and time characteristics, which were conducted by means of 90Sr β-source. At β-source mounting in the scintillator centre the counter amplitude resolution constitutes 80%, and its time resolution equals to 1 ns
