The report summarizes the regional reports of the seismological observatories for the year 1983. There was no serious earthquake so far in the F.R.G. The data are presented in the form of maps showing the seismic centers in West Germany (including marginal regions). Explanations of seismological terminology and abbreviations used are given for the general reader. (DG)

Abstract (German)

Der Jahresbericht fasst die regionalen Erdbebenberichte der seismologischen Observatorien fuer das Jahr 1983 zusammen. In Deutschland haben Erdbeben mit katastrophalen Ausmassen bisher nicht stattgefunden. Zur besseren Uebersicht ist das Datenmaterial in Karten dargestellt. Sie zeigen die geographische Lage der Erdbebenherde in der Bundesrepublik einschliesslich der Randgebiete. Die seismologischen Begriffserlaeuterungen erleichtern dem Laien das Verstaendnis der Berichte. (DG)
