Description

To study doses received by tissue of any part of human body, when exposed to ionizing radiations, several materials have been used to simulate human tissues and are known as tissue equivalent materials. Tissue substitute should have the same radiological properties as real tissue and should have precise value of photon interaction parameters such as effective atomic number (Zeff), mass attenuation coefficient (μ/ρ), mass energy absorption coefficient (μen/ρ), electron density (Nel), energy absorption build-up factor (EABF), exposure build-up factor (ExBF) and relative kerma
