Metal surface processing (in the example of steel) by chemical and thermal methods

Present article considers the metal surface processing (in the example of steel) by chemical and thermal methods. In this article, authors highlighted the chemical-thermal refinement of the surface of metals, obtaining the surface layer of steel parts with increased hardness, wear resistance, heat resistance and corrosion resistance. It has been defined that the most common types of chemical-thermal processing of steel by diffusion are: cementation, nitriding, cyanidation. (author)
