Spontaneous emission from a system of nonidentical two-level atoms
Description
The main features are described of radiation from a system of nonidentical two-level atoms initially prepared in a specific state (only one of the atoms is excited). It is shown that in some cases the lifetime of the whole system may be shorter than that of an isolated atom. (author). 7 refs
