The system Li2O - Ga2O3 - B2O3

Description

Results of the ternary system Li2O-Ga2O3-B2O3 investigation using the methods of DTA, X-ray phase analysis and IR-spectroscopy are presented. Formation in the system of five compounds 2LiOxGa2O3x3B2O3, Li2OxGa2O3xB2O3, 3Li2OxGa2O3x2B2O3, 2Li2OxGa2O3xB2O3 and Li2OxGa2O3x2B2O3 with melting points 825, 790, 770, 896 and 810 deg C respectively, is established. X-ray and IR spectroscopic characteristics of compounds with the determination of coordination number of boron atoms in them are given. Rough diagram of initial crystallization fields of phases with preliminary triangulation of the ternary system is plotted
