Comparison of the German and European guideline on internal dosimetry in practice

In lncorporation monitoring, the determination of the body dose is an essential task. The legal framework is given by the Radiation Protection Act (StrlSchG) and the Ordinance (StrlSchV). In Germany, the guideline for lncorporation monitoring RiPhyKo2 regulates lncorporation monitoring as a sub-legal set of rules, on the European level the 'Technical Recommendation for Monitoring lndividuals for Occupational lntakes of Radionuclides' (TechRec). How do the two sets of regulations compare? Is the approach to estimating internal dosimetry comparable or are there differences? The answers to these questions will be presented in more detail in the following article.
