Description

This paper presents a brief overview of progress made in the study of hypernuclear physics. The use of λ-hypernuclei to study properties of conventional (nonstrange) nuclei is explored. The authors' knowledge of the hyperon-nucleon force is reviewed. Anecdotal examples of interesting hypernuclear phenomena are discussed. The status of Σ-hypernuclei is considered along with a search for the H dibaryon
