Locations in Montenegro of high radiation background

Description
Results of high radiation background research in Montenegro are given in this article. Locations with absorbed dose in air which are more than double higher than the average value in Montenegro of 55 nGyh-1 are presented, as well as the characteristics of their radiation obtained by gamma-spectrometry of the soil samples taken from these sites. The most of these locations belong to the areas reach with bauxites which are characteristic by high concentrations of Th i U, and two of them are on andesite rocks with elevated K and U content. Since the maximum absorbed dose measured in air 1 m above the ground in Montenegro is 192 nGyh-1, all these sites, compared to the other known areas of high natural radiation background in the world, have a moderately elevated level of radiation background. Abstract (Serbian)
U radu su prikazani rezultati istrazivanja povecanog fona terestrijalnog gama-zracenja u Crnoj Gori. Za uzorke tla sa lokaliteta sa jacinama apsorbovane doze koje su vise nego dvostruko vece od prosjecne u Crnoj Gori (55 nGyh-1), dati su i analizirani rezultati gamaspektrometrijske analize. Najveci broj ovih lokaliteta je na boksitnim lezistima koje karakterisu povecane koncentracije Th i U, a dva lokaliteta su na srednjetrijaskim vulkanitima (andezit) koji imaju povecani sadrzaj K i donekle U. Kako je maksimalna izmjerena jacina doze u Crnoj Gori 192 nGyh-1, svi ovi lokaliteti, u poredjenju sa drugim poznatim podrucjima u svijetu sa visokim prirodnim fonom zracenja, spadaju u red onih sa umjerenim vrijednostima povecanja fona.Files
