Description

The author examines work by Attix et al on the assumption that in ionization detectors used for neutron dosimetry. Bragg-Grey Theory requirements are satisfied for 14.8 MeV neutrons. The conclusion is that Bragg-Grey Theory can only be extended to high energy neutron irradiation of inhomogeneous detectors if the gas cavity size or gas pressure are reduced such that the domestic ionization is an insignificant part of the total.
