The isomeric ratio Pm-148m/Pm-148g for the nuclear reactions 148Nd(p,n)sup(148m,g)Pm, 148Nd(d,2n)sup(148m,g)Pm and 146Nd(α,pn)sup(148m,g)Pm and for the fission of U-235 and U-233 by thermal neutrons and the calculation of the angular momentum of the primary fission fragments
Description
In the first part of this paper, the methods of assessing the angular momentum of primary fission fragments are reviewed. The radiochemical method with which the isomeric ratios of fission products, i.e. the relative abundances of isomeric fission products, are measured is described in particular detail. In the second part, the measurement of the excitation functions and the isomeric ratios of the nuclear reactions 148Nd(p,n)sup(148m,g)Pm, 148Nd(d,2n)sup(148m,g)Pm and 146Nd(α,pn)sup(148m,g)Pm is reported. These reactions have been studied for missile energies from the Coulomb barrier up to about 50 MeV. In the third part the calculation of the isomeric ratios according to the method of Huizenga and Vandenbosch based on the statistical model is described for the reactions 148Nd(p,n)sup(148m,g)Pm and 148Nd(d,2n)sup(148m,g)Pm. In the fourth part, the experimental determination of the absolute independent yields ysub(m) and ysub(g) of the isomeric nuclei sup(148m)Pm and sup(148g)Pm and the isomeric ratio sup(148m)Pm/sup(148g)Pm of the fission of 233U and 235U induced by thermal neutrons is reported on. Im ersten Teil dieser Arbeit wird ein Ueberblick ueber die Methoden gegeben, den Drehimpuls primaerer Spaltfragmente zu bestimmen. Dabei wird besonders ausfuehrlich die radiochemische Methode beschrieben, bei der Isomerenverhaeltnisse von Spaltprodukten, d.h. die relativen Ausbeuten isomerer Spaltprodukte, gemessen werden. Im zweiten Teil wird ueber die Messung der Anregungsfunktionen und Isomerenverhaeltnisse der Kernreaktionen 148Nd(p,n)sup(148m,g)Pm, 148Nd(d,2n)sup(148m,g)Pm und 146Nd(α,pn)sup(148m,g)Pm berichtet. Diese Reaktionen wurden fuer Projektilenergien von der Coulombschwelle bis zu ungefaehr 50 MeV untersucht. Im dritten Teil wird fuer die Reaktionen 148Nd(p,n)sup(148m,g)Pm und 148Nd(d,2n)sup(148m,g)Pm die Berechnung der Isomerenverhaeltnisse nach der auf dem statistischen Modell beruhenden Methode von Huizenga und Vandenbosch beschrieben. Im vierten Teil wird ueber die experimentelle Bestimmung der absoluten unabhaengigen Ausbeuten ysub(m) und ysub(g) der isomeren Kerne Pm-148m und Pm-148g und des Isomerenverhaeltnisses Pm-148m/Pm-148g bei der durch thermische Neutronen induzierten Spaltung von U-233 und U-235 berichtet.
