Description
The device of the present invention can supply cooling water in accordance with the lowering of the reactor water level. That is, a cooling water storage tank is disposed at a place where the liquid level is higher than the reactor water level. An air suction pipe and a water supply pipe connect the coolant storage tank and a reactor pressure vessel. Hydropressure operation valves are disposed to the air suction pipe and the water supply pipe in the pressure vessel respectively. A suction port of a pump which closes the hydropressure operation valve by discharge pressure thereof is disposed at a warning level. Then, when the reactor water level is lowered to lower than the warning level, the hydropressure operation valves are opened. Cooling water is injected in the reactor by water head difference. The device of the present invention requires no external driving source for its operation. Further, since no active equipments such as detectors are not present, installation for back-up devices assuming stoppage of power supply, etc. can be minimized. (I.S.)
