Description

Recently published experimental results on the polarized structure function g1(x, Q2) of the proton, neutron and deuteron have been used in next to leading order QCD fits to provide constraints on the polarized parton distribution functions. Semi-inclusive measurements, sensitive to flavour-specific distributions, will remove some of the uncertainties due to theoretical assumption. Determination of the orbital angular momentum contribution is necessary for a complete understanding of nucleon spin
