X-ray diffraction study of gadolinium-scandium-gallium garnet samples

Description
Using the X-ray diffraction method, the crystal structure of two rare earth garnets Gd3Sc2Ga3O12(1) and Gd3Sc1.6Ga3.4O12(2) is refined. It is found that there are vacancies in dodecahedral sublattice in crystal 1 and octahedral sublattice in crystal 2. The crystal chemical formulae for the tested crystals are proposed
