Use of thin polycarbonate film for determining fission barriers in the region of Z = 82 and N = 126 using electron linear accelerators

Description
Thin polycarbonate detectors are shown to be simple, reliable and fast in application to the measurement of fission barriers using the electron linear accelerator. Agreement with the mica detector is demonstrated to be good. The above characteristics of a thin plastic detector, together with its ability to differentiate against background, comprise general advantages in comparison with the mica or thick plastic detectors.
