Use of atomic absorption method for continuous analytical control of process of refractory metals refining

Description

The possibility has been shown of using the atomic absorption method of measuremets for continuous analytical control of the refining process for refractory metals during vacuum melting. With the aid of correlation analysis, an equation has been obtained of calibration dependence between the measured optical density of the iron atomic vapours over the vanadium melt and the iron content in the ingots being obtained. The possibility has also been shown of using the method for measuring the rates of metal impurities evaporation from refractory metals during the refining process. It has been shown that the correlation between the parameters being measured and the values studied as well as reproducibility of experimental results can be improved
