Natural radioactivity in water - specifications in the Freshwater Ordinance and Radiation Protection Ordinance

At the start of the project in autumn 2001, there was no sufficient knowledge of the effects of new radiation protection specifications in terms of freshwater supply and radioactivity levels in freshwater. The knowledge gaps concerning natural radioactivity and water supply were to be closed in the course of the project. The scientific goal was the development of recommendations for action for German water suppliers. (orig.)
