Investigation of interaction of rhenium bis-cyclopentadienylhydride with iron (3) chloride

Description
The method of calorimetric titration was applied to establish that Cp2ReH interaction with FeCL3 in diethyl ether proceeds in two stages (thermal effects are equal to 33.0 and 15.9 kcal/mole Cp2ReH respectively). The compound Cp2ReHxFeCl3 (1) is formed at the first stage , and the compound Cp2Rex3FeCl3 (2) is formed at the second stage. It is shown that (2) complex treatment by excess of Cp2ReH produces the (1) complex and diamagnetic rheniecene (Cp2Re)2 not described earlier and characterised by the methods of PMR and IR spectroscopy
