Intracentre luminescence of SrCl2-Pb single crystals

Description
Spectral characteristics of Pb2+-centres are studied in SrCl2-Pb single crystals. In the spectra of SrCl2-Pb single crystals with a small concentration of the activator there is a symmetric absorption band 250 nm, excitation in which results in appearance of emission in the region of 282 nm (79 K). These bands correspond to the intracentre transitions Asub(1g) reversible sup(3)T sub(1u). With the increase in concentration of the activator in the SrCl2-Pb crystal (Csub(pb)(>=)7x10sup(-2) mol %), there appear additional absorption (257 nm) and luminescence (410 nm) bands. Intensity of the latter is in superlinear dependence on the activator concentration and they are attributed to the transitions sup(1)Σ reversible sup(3)πsub(1u) in the (Pb2+)2-centres
