On the technique for quantitative estimation of iron ores in boreholes by neutron methods

Description

The comparative evaluation of the efficiency of different techniques of spectrometric neutron gamma logging for iron is performed on the basis of calculated data and model measurements. It is shown that the essential accuracy increase in determination of metal commercial concentrations is attained by means of a method based on recording the intensity ratio of 6.5-7.5 MeV capture gamma radiation of iron and thermal neutron flux. Gamma and neutron measurements are performed at equal and short distances (approximately 10 cm) from the neutron source
