Energy sobriety - Material constraints, social equity and institutional perspectives

The authors address the issue of energy sobriety, a notion which has been slowly emerging since the 2000's. The contributions first address political dimensions of sobriety: how to make sobriety a political issue, the evolution of public action in the organisation of sobriety, sobriety practices in Nord-Pas-de-Calais, energy sobriety in Bristol, regional scenarios of energy sobriety as a tool of awareness and test decision support, the ignorance of energy sobriety by the EU, the continuation of the energy consumption imaginary. The second part discusses issues related to inequities, equity, justice and sobriety
