Study of PbZrO3 phase transitions using perturbed angular correlation

Description
The measurement of the electric field gradient at the nuclei of 181Ta substituted for Zr atoms in lead zirconate was performed using differential angular correlation γ-γ as a function of temperature. This study confirmed the existence, between 223 °C and 233 °C, of an intermediate phase located between the antiferroelectric phase and the paraelectric phase. Dynamic phenomena near the transitions, particularly in the paraelectric phase, were also highlighted.

La mesure du gradient de champ électrique au niveau de noyaux de 181Ta substitués aux atomes Zr du zirconate de plomb a été réalisée par corrélation angulaire différentielle γ-γ en fonction de la température. Cette étude a confirmé l'existence, entre 223 °C et 233 °C, d'une phase intermédiaire située entre la phase antiferroélectrique et la phase paraélectrique. Des phénomènes dynamiques au voisinage des transitions, notamment dans la phase paraélectrique, ont d'autre part été mis en évidence.Additional details
