Hamor-2: a computer code for LWR inventory calculation

Description

A method for calculating the accuracy inventory of LWR reactors is presented. This method uses the Hamor-2 computer code. Hamor-2 is obtained from the coupling of two other computer codes Hammer-Techion and Origen-2 for testing Hamor-2, its results were compared to concentration values measured from activides of two PWR reactors; Kernkraftwerk Obrighein (KWO) and H.B. Robinson (HBR). These actinides are U235, U236, U238, Pu239, Pu241 and PU242. The computer code Hammor-2 shows better results than the computer code Origem-2, when both are compared with experimental results. (E.G.)

Abstract (Portuguese)

Apresenta-se um metodo consistente de calculo para a determinacao do inventario preciso de reatores LWR. O metodo consiste no desenvolvimento do codigo HAMOR-2. HAMOR-2 e o acoplamento dos codigos HAMMER-TECHNION e ORIGEN-2. Para se testar o codigo HAMOR-2, compara-se seus resultados com valores medidos das concentracoes de actinideos (U-235, U-238, Pu269-, Pu240, Pu241 e Pu-242) de dois reatores PWR: o Kernkraffwerk Obrighein (KWO) e o H.B. Robson (HBR). Verifica-se que HAMOR-2 fornece bons resultados de concentracao final para os actinideos selecionados quando com resultados experimentais. HAMOR-2 apresenta em geral resultados melhores que os produzidos pelo ORIGEN-2, quando ambos sao comparados com resultados experimentais. (Autor)
