Description

The hydromagnetic flow over an infinite rotating disk (with suction) is studied in the presence of a circular magnetic field generated in the disk itself. Von Karman type of similarity solutions reduce the problem to a set of non-linear, coupled, ordinary differential equations with two point boundary conditions. The existence of solution is established using Schauder's Fixed Point Theorem which holds good if the magnetic Prandtl number satisfies the inequality 1<=α<=7.5 and the ratio of the Alfven wave speed to the disk speed β<=2.
