Improvement of nsss design to reduce occupational radiation exposure (O.R.E.) and radwaste volumes
Description
Operation of 900 MW class PWRs in France and Belgium has shown that average collective radiation doses due to operation and maintenance have increased less than in other countries such as the United States. As a result of R and D activities, FRAMATOME has initiated concrete measures to help reduce personnel radiation exposure. These measures include reduction in the sources and quantity of activable products, and in the duration of personnel exposure during maintenance

Le fonctionnement des centrales a eau sous pression de 900 MWe en France et en Belgique montre que les doses collectives d'irradiation du personnel sont inferieures a celles dues au fonctionnement des centrales etrangeres, y compris americaines. A la suite de ses activites de Recherche et Developpement FRAMATOME a pris des mesures concretes pour reduire l'exposition du personnel aux radiations ionisantes.
