Storage room with shielding containers

Description

Low-level and intermediate-level waste places in a storage cask can be embedded in a shielding container to reduce radiation. According to this invention, the shielding container has a more or less square-shaped cross section, with flattenings and projecting parts on opposite sides that provide extra support between shielding containers when packed closely. This reduces storage space, yet allows dismounting when the store is required for other purposes. (orig./PW)
