Planetary tests of general relativity

  • 1. California Inst. of Tech., Pasadena (USA). Jet Propulsion Lab.

Description

To test general relativity within the solar system to an accuracy of one persent it is necessary to make measurements which are accurate to the order of one part in 1010 or better. The effect of general relativity on the propagation of radio signals pass near the solar disk are discussed and reveals the advantage of radio metrix data over optical data for relativity testing. Abstract (German)
