Description
Mycotoxins and phycotoxins are toxins produced by fungi and algae, respectively. These hazardous substances play an important role in foodborne diseases of humans and animals. Research on these toxins is multidisciplinary in nature and this monograph exemplifies this broad spectrum of interests. Contributions are presented on the various aspects related to toxin research, viz. microbiology and genetics, biosynthesis, structural chemistry and mechanism of action and the role of toxins in human and animal health. refs.; figs.; tabs
