Description

Subsurface hydrogen electronic levels are discussed in terms of exciton-like states generated by vacancy-hydrogen interaction in transition-metal catalysts. Trapped hydrogen atoms have binding energies that depend exponentially on the density of electronic states at the Fermi level. (author)
