Investigation into rate of cooling of 08Kh18N10T strip steel during high temperature thermomechanical treatment

Description

Structure and mechanical properties of the flat band of the 08Kh18W10T steel are studied after various regimes of cooling at thermal treatment. It is found that complex of mechanical properties after high-temperature thermomechanical treatment is determined by temperature conditions of hot working end and steel cooling rate in the temperature recrystallization range. It is shown that we receive considerably high strength values at working temperature of 1000 deg C, deformation degree E=25% and cooling rate of 30 deg C/c. Cooling rate being increased from 30 to 150 deg C/c ultimate strength and yield strength still increase, whereas steel plasticity properties decrease a bit. It is established that the following parameters are optimum parameters of cooling intensity of the 08Kh18N10T flat steel: average cooling rate Usub(Tsub(d.e.)-Tsub(r.e.))=75-150 deg C/s at Tsub(d.e.)=1000 deg C; Usub(Tsub(d.e.)-Tsub(r.e.))=115-150 deg C/s at Tsub(d.e.)=1050 deg C; Usub(Tsub(d.e.)-Tsub(r.e.))=150 deg C/s and higher at Tsub(d.e.)=1100 deg C, where Tsub(d.e.) - temperature of deformation end, Tsub(r.e.) - temperature of recrystallization end
