The rotation curve of NGC 4,096
Description
The rotation curve of the Sc galaxy NGC 4,096 out 100'' from the nucleus has been obtained by measuring the Hα line on three 125 A/mm spectra. A mass of 8.7 x 109 M(S) and a lower limit for the mass-to-light ratio of 1.1 have been computed for a distance of 13 Mpc. This latter value has been checked using the light curve of the 1960 h type I supernova. (orig./WL)

Die Rotationskurve des Sc-Spiralnebels NGC 4.096 bis 100'' ausserhalb des Kerns wurde bestimmt, indem man die Hα-Linie an drei Spektren von 125 A/mm mass. Fuer einen Abstand von 13 Mpc wurde eine Masse von 8,7 x 109 M(S) und eine Untergrenze des Verhaeltnisses Masse zu Licht von 1,1 errechnet. Der letztere Wert wurde anhand der Lichtkurve der Supernova 1960 h Typ I nachgeprueft. (orig./WL)Additional details
