The decays of the ρ'1 and ω'1 mesons

Description
New measurements of the reaction e+e-→ωπ confirm previous evidence for the decay ρ'1→ωπ and provide a strong constraint on the mass of the ρ'1. The results from a detailed analysis of these data are compared with those from a corresponding analysis of new data on the reaction e+e-→ρπ. It is shown that Γ(ρ'1→ωπ)∝1/3 Γ(ω'1→ρπ) in accord with expectation. This identification of a strong ρ'1→ωπ decay supports a previous claim that the ρ'1 and the c(1480), observed in the Φπ channel, cannot be different manifestations of the same particle. (orig.)
