Description
We evaluate lowest-order quantum corrections to the classical description of highly excited nuclear matter using a semiclassical expansion of the canonical partition function. In so doing we establish regions of density and temperature where quantum effects are small. These regions overlap with those that are of interest in astrophysics and heavy ion collisions. (orig.)
