Effective formalin treatment of radiation-induced hemorrhagic colitis

Radiation colitis sometimes shows uncontrollable bleeding. We experienced a case of radiation-induced hemorrhagic colitis, the treatment by formalin spraying was effective. This patient was 66 years old man with prostate cancer. He had complicated by hemorrhagic colitis 7 month after radiation therapy. Because the bleeding from colitis could not control, we sprayed formalin three times, and this was very effective. The formalin treatment was simple, effective and minimally invasive therapy for radiation-induced hemorrhagic colitis. (author)
