Description

The elemental composition existing in a material, together with their chemical state, overall electronic structure, and density of their electronic states, a surface-sensitive spectroscopic technique was applied. This method analyses nano-layers effectively because it provides sufficient information about the bound states of electron in the material. The findings of core-level photoemission investigations revealing chemical state and surface composition. The surface composition and chemical state of MgO nanostructures examined using core-level light emission. The elemental signals received validate the presence of carbon (C), oxygen (O), and magnesium (Mg) elements in the wide scan survey of the sample. The Mg 1s core level at 1302.8 eV is the peak with the highest intensity in the spectrum of deposited MgO nanostructure. The peak observed at 531.64 eV corresponds to O2- in the lattice of MgO. These findings and the core level spectra of Mg 2p at B.E. 50.91 eV show that the nanostructure of MgO was present with Mg lattice, and they also confirm the existence in the core level spectra of Mg 1 s and O 1 s. The Mg 2p peak analysis in the results shows that Mg does not change its chemical state during the growth process; instead, the characteristic B.E dictates its oxidation. (author)
