Diffusion and electric field domain formation in one-dimensional superlattices

Description
Based on a general microscopic approach, the electric field dependent carrier diffusion is treated for a one-dimensional superlattice within the quasi-elastic scattering regime. Numerical and analytical results are compared, and the validity of the Einstein relation between the diffusion coefficient and the mobility is checked. The results are used to study the onset of domain formation in one-dimensional superlattices
