Reactor Physics Measurements on the Zero Energy HTR Lattice HITREX-1 at CEGB Berkeley Nuclear Laboratories

Description

This report presents the results of a series of reactor physics experiments performed with the CEGB zero energy HTR facility HITREX-1 at Berkeley Nuclear Laboratories. The fuel elements were of the pin-in-block type. The fuel consisted of low enriched uranium compacts. The experimental programme has been focussed on neutron flux measurement, on the study of the interaction between pins, the effect on power distribution by control rods in various core and reflector positions, of power gradients at the Core/Reflector interface, and of fast neutron graphite damage distribution.
