Description
The mechanism of 4-picoline chlorination has been studied under the action of gamma radiation in the temperature range from 90 to 200 deg C. It is found that chlorination direction is determined mainly by temperature. The following products of reaction are isolated: 4-trichloromethylpyridine, 3-chloro-4-dichloromethylpyridine, 2-chloro-4-trichloromethylpyridine, 2,5-dichloro-4 trichloromethylpyridine, 2,3,5-trichloro-4-trichloromethylpyridine, 3,5-dichloro-4-trichloromethylpyridine
