The apoptosis induced by 60Co γ rays in HL-60 cell line and effect of Bcl-2 gene on cell apoptosis
- 1. China Inst. for Radiation Protection, Taiyuan (China)
Description
The apoptosis induced by 60Co γ rays (doses:0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 Gy) was studied using the human leukemia HL-60 cell line. The apoptosis for HL-60 cells and HL-60 cells anti-sensed with Bcl-2 gene (HL-60asBcl-2) was compared. The results showed that 60Co γ ray can inhibit the reproductive of the two cell lines and induce apoptosis in them. The apoptosis rate positively correlated to with radiation dose and increased with the time after irradiation. At the early period (24 and 48 h) after irradiation, the apoptosis rate for HL-60asBcl-2 cells was obviously higher than that for HL-60 cells, whereas for both cell lines, no significant difference in apoptosis rate was seen at 72 h, 96 h and 120 h after irradiation
