Current instability and generation of kinetic Alfven waves in the Earth magnetosphere

Description
Linear and quasi-linear phases of development of current instability of kimetic Alfven waves in the Earth magnetosphere at h>3R(R-Earth radius) heights are considered. The obtained results are used to interpret low-frequency radiation observed by means of DE1 satellite. Low-frequency turbulence observed over auroral ranges is shown to result from development of current instability of kinetic Alfven waves
