Description
Three out of the fourteen beamline units of the JT-60 NBI system have been assembled and tested reliably. Using the first and the second beamline units, performance tests of the beam monitor system have been carried out. In particular, confirmed were the performances of the optical beam monitor systems which were used for measuring the beam divergence angles, the beam axis deflection angles, species ratio of neutral beams, low Z impurity level in the neutral beams, and the transient temperature rise of the JT-60 vacuum vessel protection plates due to neutral beam shine-through
