Description
Chemical preparation of methylcyclopentane-14C by heterogeneous catalytic isomerization of cyclohexane-14C is described. The reaction runs at about 2500 under H2 pressure in an apparatus using the fixed bed catalyst 8850 (Pt/Y zeolite). Preparative separation takes place in the interconnected gas chromatograph. Reaction yields of about 62% are reached
