French operations concerning mainly: - the bituminization of radioactive wastes produced by light water reactors; - the direct bituminizing, without preconcentration, liquid effluents; - the experimentation for 18 months with the land burial of evaporation concentrates solidified by bitumen into blocks of 100 l are presented. The knowledge acquired in France: in Valduc and in Saclay with facilities equipped with thin film evaporators: in Marcoule with the conditioning of trilaurylamine and tributylphosphate is mentioned. At last, the future bituminizing facility in Cadarache, designed starting in 1977, is succinctly described

Abstract (French)

L'auteur fait état des travaux de développement français portant principalement sur :— le bitumage des résidus radioactifs produits par les centrales à eau légère ;— le bitumage direct sans préconcentration des effluents liquides ;— l'expérimentation d'enfouissement dans le sol pendant dix-huit mois de blocs de 1001 de concentrais solidifiés par le bitume.Il mentionne également l'expérience acquise en France depuis 1971 à Valduc et à Saclay avec des stations équipées d'évaporateurs à couche mince et à Marcoule pour le conditionnement de trilaurylamine et de tributyl-phosphate.Enfin, il décrit sommairement la future installation de Cadarache dont la mise en service est prévue en 1977.
