On the nature of radical products formed in irradiated monocarboxylic acids
- 1. AN Gruzinskoj SSR, Tbilisi. Inst. Neorganicheskoj Khimii i Ehlektrokhimii
Description
In the light of the theory of perturbation of molecular orbitals, with the use of previously obtained EPR spectroscopy data, the low-temperature (77 K) γ-radiolysis of aliphatic monocarboxylic acids-from methane acid to octadecane acid is studied. The alkyl radicals yield is shown to grow with the extension of the the hydrocarbon chain of alkyl portion of the acid molecule
