Preparation of oxides with spinel structure: an introduction to x-ray diffratometry

Description
This paper describes an educational experiment in inorganic chemistry laboratory which main objective is to introduce the student into the X-ray diffractometry technique. Important concepts such as unit cell, Miller indices and Bragg's law are applied to interpret data obtained for Fe3 O4 and Zn Fe2 O4 crystals. (author)
