Chromosome aberrations induced in mouse spermatogonia by exposure to neutrons of very high energy

Description
The incidence of reciprocal translocations induced in mouse spermatogonia has been studied in CBA mice given X-ray or neutron exposure. Analysis of dividing spermatocytes at diakinesis-first metaphase stage of meiosis shows that in X-irradiated mice there is a linear dose-response relationship. After exposure to fast neutrons the yield of translocations follows a humped curve with a maximum of chromosome exchanges after exposure to 100 rad

La comparaison des taux de translocations produites dans les spermatogonies de la Souris par une exposition aux rayons X et a des neutrons de haute energie demontre que ces derniers sont beaucoup plus efficaces pour la production d'anomalies chromosomiques. Alors que le taux d'anomalies augmente jusqu'a 300R pour les souris traitees par les rayons X, il passe par un maximum a 100 rad pour les souris traitees par neutronsAdditional details
